Sunday mornings. I've written about these times before. SL is a lovely retreat of solitude and quiet on a Sunday morning, especially when it's too cold to be outside, and too early to be out and about!

On a recent stroll around SL, I came across a sim named La Cuesta. Primarily a shopping sim for the store and hang out "Groll Inn", I found this sim to be beautifully picturesque, in a very eerie, spooky way. Not only were there skeletons hanging from towers, and mysterious tomb like buildings spotted on my journey there, but there was a feeling I had the entire time of being watched. Upon entering the Inn, there is a strange woman at the desk, she never quite made me feel i was truly welcome, even though I'm quite certain this is her job as Inn Clerk!

So things have been very busy around here! The Mall @ Camrina has opened. There's a wonderful fashion hunt happening through Miel, a women's fashion store at the Mall @ Carmina. Several concerts at the venue, and a wonderful photography contest. Then all of a sudden, it dawned on me that I dropped my first LM of the Day 2 years ago today! What a wonderful two years it has been, too! Lots of wonderful friends in the group...great places to see in Second Life...and exciting

When writing up Landmarks of the Day, I am usually struck by a particular aspect of a sim. Whether it's the art, the gardens, the theme, or the landscaping, usually one thing clearly stands out to make me realize "THIS is going to be a LM of the Day!" Well today's LM of the Day, Wandering Spirits, is a little different. I can't quite put my finger on why I want to feature this sim, but the more I explored the place, the more I wanted to share it with you all!
While hopping around the grid the other day I came across a beautiful garden sim called, Forest Feast. Now I'm the first to admit that we have all seen our fair share of gardens, caves, coves, grottoes, etc., but this sim just had a pleasant quality to it. First of all, I believe it to be a store, however, I never got the sense that I was in one. There were plenty of spots to explore. One of the buildings near the edge of the sim was actually worn down and overgrown by its plant life around it...telephone poles and wires leaning precariously close to my proximity.
Thanks for hanging in there with the group!! I've recently been so busy with the new sim/ game/ movie/experience of Carmina, that I've had a hard time keeping up with LMs of the Day! A few have passed my IM window and I'd like to pass these along to you all. Enjoy and see you around the grid!
Have you found Carmina yet? Have you seen the movie? Go visit if not!!!
HERE THEY ARE!!!
2 LMs of the Day in one!

THE INSTITUTE FOR DIGITAL INTERMEDIA ARTS presents AM Radio's "The Red and the Wild" as part of their artists in residence program for virtual installation art and performance. I have always loved AM's work, and this is yet another scene captured right from AM's imagination and brought into our view and experience. As always be sure to explore and find the many small details that he's created as part of this installation.
Error, the name of the sim, is a very picturesque place. This place is not huge at all, but what it does offer is a beautifully strange backdrop for some very creative photography. There even seems to be a very small store here, selling a few unique items. The textures and images here, are very unique, created by GutterBlood Spoonhammer. I suggest playing around with your windlight settings here, as you'll probably find that there will be many beautiful looks to the already rich environment.
I recieved a tip to try out an almost impossible maze that is built above the Untold Ark Art Gallery. The maze was difficult, I have to say, I didn't find the solution by the proper means!! Shhh...don't tell on me!! I had limited time and had to take pictures too! LOL! However, it was what I found after exploring the maze that I want to tell you more about.
Fotoscope Island is an island full of places for you to photograph yourself alone or with friends. Co-owner, Korgi Lerwick, built Fotoscope Island, with partner Squishypaint Aabye, so that everyone can have a place to take photos, or as he puts it "But the main point of the sim is to provide photographers with a variety of locations and hundreds of poseballs....... all free to use!"
