6pi--Funny name, beautiful sim

Well, I have been having fun finding some really great LMs of the Day lately. Thank goodness I've been paying attention to Koinup and Flickr lately! While perusing a SL group page on Koinup I noticed a scene that I thought, surely, could NOT be Second Life, it just looked too much like it had been pulled out of a children's illustrated story book! 6pi is indeed in-world, and it might make you feel as if you have stepped into the pages of a story book! The colors and textures are immediately standing out as this sim's focal point, until you begin to wander around and you notice the landscaping, various buildings, and a variety of shoppes. Strewn about the sim you'll find tiny blue transparent cubes in which you can animate yourself for photos.

Forest Feast

Jenn in GardenWhile hopping around the grid the other day I came across a beautiful garden sim called, Forest Feast. Now I'm the first to admit that we have all seen our fair share of gardens, caves, coves, grottoes, etc., but this sim just had a pleasant quality to it. First of all, I believe it to be a store, however, I never got the sense that I was in one. There were plenty of spots to explore. One of the buildings near the edge of the sim was actually worn down and overgrown by its plant life around it...telephone poles and wires leaning precariously close to my proximity.

Alice's Garden

Photo by Jenn HienrichsSunday mornings in Second Life. Quiet, not many distractions, a time when I explore sims. I come across a sim called Dojo Tristan. On this sim is a place called Alice's Garden (SLurl). Instead of writing it up and releasing it to the group, I decide to drop the LM on them in-world and explore this quiet, abandoned, little parish together. There's a strange, yet lyrical feel to it. Shops are disguised nicely, not a typical use of commercial space.

Serenite and Annwn

Serenite,
and it's neighboring sim Annwn, are based on the Celtic countrysides of Ireland and Scotland. Annwn is a creative sandbox for the sim owner, holding a surreal feel at times, while Serenite follows more traditional sensibilities - but the two are so in tune you may never notice when you pass from one to the other. I highly recommend you walk, not fly, when you explore these sims; there are so many nooks and hidden places that you simply cannot see from the air. Enjoy the pirate ship, find the hidden crystal cave ... and what's that at the bottom of the well?

HOSOI ICHIBA

Hosoi Ichiba
, an Asian Sim set up and designed to reflect real life for its residents. You will meet the residents of Hosoi Ichiba as you wander around, they may be engaged in their Tai Chi, or just shopping in the markets.

Eccentricity

I discovered Eccentricity while visiting Whimsy and I found a wonderful couple of sims being built. I messaged the owner, Leaf Shermer. She mentioned to me that she would be finished building in a few days and to message her back!

Whimsy

Lord Coalcliff handed me this really neat notecard the other day with some LMs for me to go visit. I told him I would definately check out the places, and quite possibly blog them!

The first place on this list that made me take great notice and think "Wow...this would be a great LM of the Day" was Whimsy. As this sign says "Odd, fanciful, capricious, flighty, unpredictable...Welcome to the sim with a sense of humor."

Liquid Heat

Today's LM of the Day was sent to me by group member Erin Burks. Her amazing sim, Liquid Heat is described in this letter to SL Things to Do. If you've been in the group for a while, you may remember back in October, when we featured Liquid Heat's Halloween sim! Thank you Erin for pointing out this wonderful build, and reminding me that it's not only for Halloween!! I know we'll enjoy visiting all the features of Liquid Heat! *Please note--the pictures and the paragraphs they are next to do not necessarily represent one another!

La Musique Games

La Musique's game area is really a fun place to join friends for a quick backgammon challenge and other fun games! I havent' explored here but Sloan Skjellerup told me that it's worthy for a LM of the Day!

This post is a bit shorter than my usual, as I'm currently rushed off my feet preparing for the (OMG it starts tomorrow) vBusiness Expo
