SL Triathlon

If you think it's impossible to get in shape while logged on to Second Life, think again. Meet Wolfgang and Suzy Spaatz, the founders of SL Triathlon. Located on Kona Island in SL, the birthplace of Ironman triathlon in real life, SL Triathlon is Second Life's only global triathlon training club, catering to enthusiasts in the swimming, cycling and running races every year. C.C.Loons Blues Museum at The Crossroads

Whether you’re a connoisseur or a mild enthusiast of blues music you will definitely want to see this Landmark of the Day. C.C.Loons Blues Museum at The Crossroads is a blip on the radar screen. In fact I wasn’t really sure I was in the right location.

Deviant

Riann Maltese may not be a familiar name to most, but a large percentage of the resident population has probably at least seen her work at one time or other, as she is the creator of what may be the most popular line of playroom furniture in SL. Another creation of hers is her personal region that is spooky, mysterious, and extremely fun to explore and roleplay in. The SIM goes by the same name as her line of products ... DEVIANT.

Mo-Tech

A Very Tall Tale

Here you see the modest office of Mo-Tech Industries.  Simple, nondescript, a tad boring, and set in the midst of Mainland clutter and lagginess.

But set your draw distance to 512 meters and look up.  Oooooo, a tall column with another office at the top?  We shall see.

Serenite and Annwn

Serenite,
and it's neighboring sim Annwn, are based on the Celtic countrysides of Ireland and Scotland. Annwn is a creative sandbox for the sim owner, holding a surreal feel at times, while Serenite follows more traditional sensibilities - but the two are so in tune you may never notice when you pass from one to the other. I highly recommend you walk, not fly, when you explore these sims; there are so many nooks and hidden places that you simply cannot see from the air. Enjoy the pirate ship, find the hidden crystal cave ... and what's that at the bottom of the well?

One Year Anniversary of SL Things to Do Announcement

SL Things to Do was born August 11, 2007 as a Blogger blog under the name The Best of Second Life. Many of you were with me back then, at the very beginning, and have watched as it has changed names and undergone some internal changes. As I think about the past year and all the amazing places I have seen and chronicled, I am struck by the quickness in which the year has passed. When I look at the LMs of the Day, however, I see a year passing ever so slowly.

Selidor Island

According to Wagner James Au, Second Life is "...an Impression Society,
where any cultural, economic, or social contribution is valued in
direct proportion to its organic creative flair and sustained
effects."  In other words, appearance is everything.

SL Botanical Gardens

The Second Life Botanical Gardens are one of the most beautiful places on the grid for relaxation, introspection and peaceful repose. Comprised of plants and trees from many SL creators, this gorgeous sim boasts a lagoon at the base of a giant waterfall, cliffside balconies, a lookout from which to see the entire sim, wisdom from the mountaintop Buddha, and even a gondola ride along the river. Residents can even set the Gardens as their "home", and of course, weddings are permitted at the gardens. A truly beautiful sim you will come to enjoy time and time again.
