The Universal Declaration of Human Rights by Charlotte Bartlett

Charlotte Bartlett has just opened her new exhibit "The Universal Declaration of Human Rights" (SLurl) at the sim Poetik velvets (video). Nur Moo has graciously provided the space, as she did with Hotel Dare, in order to keep experiential art installations in Second Life alive and well looked after! This installation is just that, experiential, however more than experiencing it, you're also reminded or learning about the 30 articles of the The Universal Declaration of Human Rights a 60 year old UN document which urged all Member Countries to publicize and disseminate the text.

The text is still widely unknown, and there's a current push to have the articles printed in all passports. After visiting Charlotte's build, please also visit The Human Rights Action Center to learn more. You can also visit the Universal Declaration of Human Rights website and see all 30 articles in their entirety.

While you're at Poetik, do wander around. A sim devoted to arts of all kinds, Moo has provided a space for residents to find themselves immersed in music, art, and concepts that go beyond 2 dimensions. Among the other installations here, you'll find Gattina Dumpling's famed "Hotel Dare" , which never disappoints as a "Thing to Do". I really enjoyed my visit to Poetik velvets, and send my thanks to Nur for her time, but mostly to Charlotte for bringing a light to this topic!

As always, please submit your pictures of your visit to this LM of the Day by sending them to our Flickr group. To see more pictures of Poetik velvets please visit Nur Moo's Flickr page.
