Andrew Wyeth Memorial Park-Be the art!

Jenn as Christina at Andrew Wyeth Memorial Park in Second LifeAndrew Wyeth was one of the first artists for me, in my memory, that actually put me in the painting. I was a little girl, probably 5 or 6 years old, and we had print of Christina's World above an old green chest where we kept candles and placemats. I remember getting the fancy placemats out of the chest of drawers, and wondering about Christina. How old was she? Was she sad? Did she live in that house, or want to live there? Did the grass tickle her arms as it blew in the breeze?

Then as I wondered about her, I would imagine that I was Christina, making up stories about why I was out in the field looking toward this house. Today, I sat in her spot in the virtual space at Andrew Wyeth Memorial Park. I didn't have a pink dress, but I did put myself there as much as I could.

The Andrew Wyeth Memorial Park is a group of work put together by Kira Westland, Aquamina Khalifa, JeanPetre Douhet, and several others dedicating their time and sim to the life and works of the renowned artist Andrew Wyeth - 1917-2009. They have created several places on their sim where you can explore the art of Wyeth.

Also in thevicinity is a Art Park. This group of dedicated and talented Second Life artists create, display and sell their works of art here. I imagine you can spend quite a while wandering the beautiful works of SL artists as well as the builds that are there to honor Wyeth. Thank you Kira and crew for such a place!

Please feel free to add your own photo of you "in the art" at our SLTTD flickr page! See you there or in world!
