Kiana Writer and friends, Maya Platthy, Stray Underwood, Loch Harlan, Twstd Ruggles, and Gypsy Paz have created a wonderful game in Second Life called Zodiac Killer. Here you will have a hunt to find the killer of 12 people.

There are many clues given and you have to use your sleuth skills to gather the clues and even solve puzzles. Here's a notecard you will receive when landing at Beyond Imagination Event Headquarters. It will be here you can pick up the rules, and the TP to the first destination, the killers house. He has left you many clues in his house to the whereabouts of the deceased. Once collecting these clues you will have to find the bodies and claim your reward from the police!

Welcome Hunters!

We are thrilled to bring you a new game called the Zodiac Killer. Please take time to read the rules before the game begins.

The game will begin from the Beyond Imagination HQ on Sunday May 4th at 10am SLT. There will be a tp from the front door to the game area.

THE RULES

1. NO GRIEFING - the locations that you will be visiting are participating only in allowing the use of the area, all of whom were kind and generous enough to sponsor the reward and prizes. The environments do not belong to Beyond Imagination. Do not grief their other customers, visitors, members, or residents. Do not break their posted rules.


2. NO PLAYER GRIEFING - You are not permitted to interfere in any manner with another player to prevent their progress in the game. Use of capture or freeze, or other griefing devices to thwart another player will result in griefing player being ejected and banned from the group and the game.


3. GROUP TAG REQUIRED - Your role title in the Beyond Imagination group is autoset to Zodiac Killer Hunter. When the game event begins you will be required to activate this group and wear the tag at all times for the duration of the game or until a winner has been announced. In order to win, you need to be in the group, if you're not, ask any of the staff members for an invite.


4. NO LITTERING - Unless otherwise instructed to do so, do not rez or lay any objects from your inventory on any of the locations you will visit in the game. If you need to rez, visit your nearest sandbox or a location in which you have entry - build rights.


5. TEAMS OK - Team play is allowed, however, do remember that this is a one winner game. Only one player will be rewarded the $5 000L. If that player previously agreed upon a split of the reward among team members, that is at the winner's sole discretion. We at Beyond Imagination will not dispute nor mediate player deals gone bad.

6. TIME FRAME - The game begins on Sunday, May 4th, 10am SLT. The game is playable until May 31st 10am SLT

7. HOSTS ARE OOG - You may not request assistance from the staff at Beyond Imagination at any point once the game begins regarding clues, game elements, locations, individuals, hints,or any other item involved. The staff is not actively participating in the game event, but will be overseeing group chat and may elect to participate in OOG chat.

You are, for the most part, on your own.

8. MALFUNCTIONS - We are aware it is Second Life which has its own issues that we can not control, such as region logouts, reboots, teleporting or search disruptions, or lagging and crashing. We have conducted several pre-game walkthroughs to make sure the game runs smoothly where it should, but we can make no complete guarantees that there will be no issues during the game.


Should you find yourself halted at any point due to SL and/or TECHNICAL issues, you are allowed to share the information with the group. In matters specific to the game play, should you encounter a malfunction, you must send an IM to any of the staff members online and inform us of the problem so that we may correct it to the best of our ability. We are not responsible for computer crashes or SL crashes.

Should anything happen beyond our control that disrupts or halts the game event, we will announce it in group chat at the first possible opportunity, providing further instructions relevant to the issue.

9. REFRAIN FROM BAD SPORTSMANSHIP - Do not harass other players, do not instigate conflicts, and if you get stuck, no whining and complaining in group chat. We recognize that some players will find the clues fairly easy, while to others it may as well be Latin. We have attempted to present the clue elements in a logical frame of reference to the goal of the game itself, immersing you into a story, rather than levels or degrees of puzzle solving ability.

10. GROUP DIALOGUE IS ALLOWED - You are allowed to communicate in group chat and help each other out. However, be warned that If you give out an exact location or a specific solution for any portion of the game in group chat, you will be ejected from the game and the group immediately and disqualified.

REWARDS

First person to successfully solve all the clues to find the killer will be rewarded $5000L in cash.

We have $30 000L worth of prizes to give away. Each day at 12pm SLT there will be a draw among all the players that have found the killer so far.
1-5 winners will receive either a cash prize or a gift certificate on a daily basis until May 31st.

The Winners will be notified by IM as well as a notice sent via Beyond Imagination group.
