SL Things to Do was born August 11, 2007 as a Blogger blog under the name The Best of Second Life. Many of you were with me back then, at the very beginning, and have watched as it has changed names and undergone some internal changes. As I think about the past year and all the amazing places I have seen and chronicled, I am struck by the quickness in which the year has passed. When I look at the LMs of the Day, however, I see a year passing ever so slowly. I am reminded of wonderful things, friends I met along the way, friends I lost along the way, and changes I’ve made to myself as an avatar and a person. As I write this 197 LMs of the Day have been posted and countless people have visited.

The very first LM of the Day, Greenies, brings back many memories, but not only from that first visit, each trip back created more recollections of the good times that were had by all!

I lost my grandmother the day I posted an ice skating sim...all my friends were around as I was writing up this wonderful winter sim, in early September 2007. We were having a wonderful time, I recall. Then my phone rang, after I had just returned home from her hospice bed. It was a LM I never returned to, and even the thought of the fun my friends and I had, would never make the hurt of that day go away. That LM will always be my least
favorite, but the memory of it serves as a tremendous turning point in my RL.

I found out I got into graduate school the day I was at Ragan Shire buying a wonderful tiny avatar!
I have met some of my best friends wandering these sims. I will never forget the day I met a few of my closest friends at Weather Channel Island. I also can’t forget the many number of sims that a good friend showed me and by guiding me through them, many LMs of the Day were born (W, you are missed by many btw). There are so many memories tied up with the LMs of the Day, that when looking back at the website as well as the archive page, I get reminiscent of these times.

I am not special. I know I’m not the only one who has wonderful (and sometimes sad) memories conjured up when looking back at the LMs of the Day. I’d love to hear your stories. For the one year anniversary I am going to post stories told by you, the group members, about your times at the LMs of the Day. You can tell any story that has happened to you while visiting any of the LMs. Use the "all things to do" page to go through the LMs as well as the archived
page (from the blogger website) to see if any special moments come to light. Send your stories to me via email, jenn@slthingstodo.com,
and make sure you include your avatar name and even some pictures!

All stories will be posted here on the website, but will also be a part of the week long SL Things to Do Anniversary party, the week of August 11, 2008. LMs will be sent in world for each night of events. Thursday night there will be a special engagement with Dexter Ihnen at 6 pm SLT, LM to arrive separately in the group notices.
